Other projects and activities are being studied, some of which are awaiting the necessary finances.

The Foundation is actually executing an inventory of the water sources available during the dry season so as to incite the Department to regularly maintain them according to an adapted plan.

The means available to the Department are limited, so we would like to be able relay on this point and assure that the elephants and the other animals would be able to water within the perimeters of the reserve without having to raid and damage surrounding farms or plantations. Their "outings" or "raids" are regularly retaliated with guns, traps or poisoning that directly affect the elephants.

A programme to plant vegetal species that are essential in the alimentation of elephants started on a small scale on our land and in the adjoining areas since our installation on the site. We have observed that certain species of wild bananas with non-edible fruits, brought as bulbs from northeast India to be replanted in the south, have multiplied rapidly and are more resistant than the species cultivated for their fruits. This experience needs to be reproduced at a larger scale in appropriate sites of the reserve.
